In 2007, wildfires destroyed Amy McQuillan and Pete Beauregard’s home that sat atop the San Pasqual Valley. Out of the ashes arose an opportunity to build a cutting-edge home with sustainability integrated into every aspect of design. Key goals included passive solar design strategies, water self sufficiency, permaculture, and eventual grid-disconnection. Some innovative design features that help achieve these goals include:

22.1 kW
SOLAR PV SYSTEM
3.2 kW
WIND TURBINE
90000 Gallons
WATER STORAGE
